My inspiration comes from the diverse environments I encounter during my travels within Canada and abroad—from rugged mountain trails to serene coastal vistas. Each journey through nature offers me a new perspective and inspiration for a new painting. I’m drawn to the little details—the way sunlight filters through trees, the way shadows stretch across fields, or the serene stillness of a foggy dawn. Each brushstroke is a way of exploring and celebrating these elements. Through my work, I hope to offer a moment of escape and reflection, encouraging others to appreciate the beauty in both familiar and distant landscapes. I want my paintings to be a reminder of the simple, profound moments of connection we can find in nature, whether we're on a hike or exploring new places. I follow a multi-layered approach in my paintings that starts with a preliminary sketch over a toned ground. I then render a transparent underpainting, that serves as the foundation for the painting. Building upon this foundation, I then apply the initial color block -in. As the layers progress, refinement takes center stage. Each stroke becomes deliberate, honing in on details. This interplay between each layer contributes to the depth and complexity of the final artwork.

When I'm not making art, I'm (a) ...

I both get inspired and find solitude in nature. So when I am not painting, I love to hike. I also love good food . Finding either a hole in the wall or a noteworthy fine dining restaurant is my other favourite thing to do. Last but not least is travelling. I live to travel and see the world.
